Welcome Back Briarwood K-Kids (2015-2016)

September 18th - Habit #1 Be Proactive & Volunteer Information

Tomorrow we will kick off our 5th year of K-Kids at Briarwood. We are fortunate enough to have Adam Nuse, the General Manager of the Bowling Green Hot Rods joining us to share how he uses this habit in his life.

We will also discuss the importance of volunteering in our community and school. Please notice that in the top right corner of this page there is a link for you to log hours your child spends volunteering. K-Kids is a service club and while there is no required number of volunteer hours, we do encourage the kids to get out in the community and help out. Each month we will tally those hours and students will be rewarded. Our last meeting of the year will be a volunteer recognition ceremony. Many of our K-Kid volunteers have been awarded special recognition by the Mayor and/or the Governor!

We are looking forward to a great year learning about the 7 Habits and helping others. Be on the lookout for volunteer opportunities. These can be as simple as raking leaves for a friend or neighbor, babysitting, helping out at church, picking up litter, walking dogs at the Humane Society, bell ringing for the Salvation Army, or anything else. As specific opportunities arise Mrs. Lasley will email parents. Please remember to log those hours each month.
